Evaluation of the Influence of Magnetic Field on the Magnitude of Thermal Currents During Pulsed Heating of Tungsten by an Electron Beam

The applicability domain of the thermocurrent model arising under pulsed localized surface heating has been extended to account for non-zero magnetic field. Equations amenable to numerical solution were derived under the cylindrical symmetry approximation. Using a simplified qualitative model, it is demonstrated that the magnetic field suppresses the poloidal current, which imposes constraints on the spatial extent of the thermocurrent in the vapor.
