Prospects for the use of telemedicine technologies for the prevention, treatment and dynamic monitoring of patients with chronic non-communicable diseases

The high prevalence of chronic non-communicable diseases (CNCDs) has led to the active use of telemedicine technologies for the prevention, treatment, and follow-up of patients with these diseases. Objective. To analyze the prospects for using telemedicine technologies to prevent, treat, and follow up patients with chronic non-communicable diseases. Materials and methods. The published data were searched in the MedLine (PubMed) and eLibrary electronic databases. Results. The prevalence of CNCDs has now become a pandemic. Patients with such conditions need continuous follow-up. Telemedicine addresses many problems related to controlling the condition, adjusting therapy, and rehabilitation for this category of patients. This review describes cases of using telemedicine technologies in providing medical care to patients with CNCDs. Conclusion. The introduction of telemedicine technologies into the prevention, treatment, and follow-up of patients with chronic non-communicable diseases can improve the quality and effectiveness of monitoring adherence to healthy lifestyles and the management of modifiable risk factors. © 2025, Media Sphera Publishing Group.
