On Some Problems of Electron Beam Ion Sources

Abstract: For electron beam ion sources (EBIS), the two-stream instability and radiative recombination are investigated. The dependence of the instability increment on the charge compensation coefficient and on the overlap coefficient of the electron and ion beams is determined at different electron beam energies. An influence of the charge state of gold and cadmium ions on the radiative recombination cross section is studied for different electron beam energies. The results of our calculations in MATLAB are presented. © Pleiades Publishing, Ltd. 2025.
