Physical and Mechanical Properties of Ash-And-Slag Mixtures for Their Use in Structural Foundations

In Russia, thermal power plants annually generate significant amounts of ash-and-slag mixtures, which can be effectively utilized in construction, including for embankments, backfilling of pits and trenches, construction of soil bedding, and as foundations for buildings and structures. A study of ash-and-slag mixtures in the Irkutsk Oblast was conducted by analyzing their physical and mechanical characteristics, such as deformation modulus, internal friction angle, maximum density, optimal moisture content, etc. © Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.
