Noncommutative Geometry and Topology at the Lomonosov Moscow State University

The paper outlines the history of the formation of noncommutative geometry at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Lomonosov Moscow State University and describes the work of the Seminar on Noncommutative Geometry and Topology, on the basis of which noncommutative geometry at the faculty was formed. Noncommutative geometry plays an increasingly important role in the structure of all mathematical sciences, and, therefore, we reflected in the article not only the development of noncommutative geometry, but also the branches of geometry and analysis that potentially approach it. © Allerton Press, Inc. 2024.
