Phytophthora mekongensis associated with gummosis of lime in Northern Vietnam

Phytophthora species have long been reported to cause Phytophthora disease in citrus, presenting symptoms such as gummosis, root rot, and brown fruit rot. This study aimed to identify Phytophthora mekongensis associated with gummosis on lime in this region. Phytophthora isolates were identified as P. mekongensis based on phylogenetic analysis of ITS and cox1 gene sequences. Pathogenicity tests demonstrated that this Phytophthora species induces gummosis on lime. Koch's postulates were confirmed.

Виды Phytophthora уже давно известны как возбудители болезни Phytophthora у цитрусовых, проявляющейся такими симптомами, как гоммоз, корневая гниль и коричневая гниль плодов. Целью данного исследования было выявить Phytophthora mekongensis, ассоциированную с гоммозом на лайме в этом регионе. Изоляты Phytophthora были идентифицированы как P. mekongensis на основе филогенетического анализа последовательностей генов ITS и cox1. Тесты на патогенность показали, что этот вид Phytophthora вызывает гоммоз на лайме. Постулаты Коха были подтверждены.
