This study aims to make a comparative analysis of the media coverage between RT news channel and social media narratives driven by Sudanese youth regarding the conflict in Sudan. The research focuses on how each platform frames the events, presents information to their audiences and discusses the role played in shaping perceptions. Through a review of RT channel reports and social media posts by Sudanese, the article finds that while RT provided a top-down perspective favoring the Sudanese authorities, social media gave a grassroots account supporting protesters. The study concludes that social media has become an important platform for alternative narratives when state media favors showing one side that is related to governments in general.
