In the context of the development of a common economic and information space, the problem of regulation of inter-ethnic relations, intercultural contacts, preservation of national identity plays central stage. Inter-ethnic interaction is an interdisciplinary concept. It is the subject of ethnopsychology, history, philosophy, sociology and other sciences. For example, from the standpoint of ethnopsychology, inter-ethnic interaction involves various forms of communication that lead to changes in the individual and social characteristics of the ethnic group and its individual representatives. Because of this, there is an integration of their specific qualities and properties. Ethnopsychology operates with the concepts of "psychological set of the nation" and "national character", studying interethnic interaction in synchrony and diachrony. This brings it closer to history, philosophy, sociology. Inter-ethnic interaction takes on new characteristics with the development of global academic mobility. It can be considered as part of the student's adaptation process who studies outside the native language environment. Therefore, language is an important means of positive development of interethnic interaction. The appeal to the phenomenon of inter-ethnic interaction is caused by the development of theoretical knowledge in the field of training of different ethnic groups representatives in the non-native language environment and the need to include in the research field of modern scientific achievements neighboring to linguodidactics. Current trends in the definition of the role and development of language education are global and relate to the updating of the content and educational forms in general. Education is focused on international academic mobility and requires representatives of different ethnic groups to be ready for training, communication and professional communication in the educational environment of an internationally oriented university, i.e., readiness for effective inter-ethnic interaction. The basis of such interaction is the language, which determines the need to develop effective strategies, models, mechanisms that contribute to productive inter-ethnic interaction in the educational environment of an internationally oriented university. In that context the importance of adaptation mechanisms, which are aimed at positive interethnic interaction, increases.
