Enhancement of English language competence in professional communication can be a great challenge for both teachers and students. This scientific paper aims to showcase the effective implementation of project-based technologies in the formation of appropriate mastery of professional language proficiency among students of architectural and building specialities (on the basis of English language) through simulated professional situations. The application of project-based methods as a powerful technique for the development of intercultural communication proves to be effective in motivating and engaging students to meet future profession requirements. The advantages of project-based technologies for students of construction and architectural specialities are conditioned by their specific character, which underlies current practice-oriented techniques and interaction in terms of intercultural professional environment. The potential of project-based methods in the formation of a professional language (architectural) portfolio of students is experimentally confirmed through effective implementation of project-based methods such as “Brainstorming” method and methodical techniques of “Development of Critical Thinking” technology. The positive outcome is demonstrated by study results of an experimental group of students throughout one academic year.
