The concept of “hybrid” (from lat. «hibrida» - admixture), which is very common in botany and zoology, is difficult to refer to the international law. In the conventional sense it means an organism or an organule that originates as a result of breeding of genetically different forms. But nevertheless this definition stably settled in political sciences to determine one of the society conditions - a warfare that may have a hybrid character which means using military and non-military tools in an integrated campaign aimed at obtaining surprise, seizing the initiative and getting psychological benefits used in diplomatic activities, widespread and aggressive informational, electronic and cyber operations, coverage and concealment of military and intelligence-gathering operations along with an economic pressure. The main target of hybrid warfare in contradiction to a typical warfare is to reduce the statesmanship of the enemy with the object to destroy it or put it under a latent external control or management, to diminish its security in a substantial way mainly by unarmed tools. Authors also concluded that the indications appropriate for modern hybrid warfare might be found in series of armed conflicts that took place in XX century.
