ASSISTED REPRODUCTION TREATMENT: EFFICIENCY OF THE PHYSIOLOGICAL INTRA-CYTOPLASMIC SPERM INJECTION (PICSI)

PICSI based on the selection of sperm on their functional maturity by immobilizing on the hyaluronan-binding system. The aim of the present study was to prove the efficiency of the PICSI. The main evaluated parameters were chemical and clinical pregnancy rates. The present data indicates that cycles used the PICSI technique had a considerably higher chance to achieve pregnancy than those who had sperm selected only by morphology assessment.
