ORTHOSTATIC HYPOTENSION AMONG PATIENTS WITH DECOMPENSATED HEART FAILURE IS ASSOCIATED WITH INTENSIVE DIURETIC THERAPY

Data about orthostatic hypotension(OH) among patients with Heart failure(HF) is poor. The aim of the study was to assess the prevalence and associations of orthostatic hypotension among patients with decompensated HF(DHF). The study group included 42 patients with OH. OH test and bioimpedance vector analysis(BIVA) were performed. OH was detected in 29% and 33% on admission and discharge and was associated with i/v loop diuretics duration of treatment and doses and hypohydratation by BIVA.
