Today the impact of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and broadband is greatly felt and affects sectors including social, economic, political and technological sectors not only around the globe, but regionally as well. To deal with this influence, most countries in the region have national ICT and broadband policies in place. Mobile communication is one of the most emerging concepts and has increased at a large scale into market today that people normally prefer using and doing mobile transaction. Throughout the continent the uprising of mobile phone networks have experienced an impressive growth. The main objective of this study is to highlight the influence of politics on access to digital information, and the regulatory efforts being applied or being planned. A causal relationship is measured between various political policies and digital division in Sub-Saharan Africa using primary and secondary data from the observations of countries from 1990 to 2016.
