Theory of Universal Grammar, or UG lays the basis to many language studies as it reveals similarities - logic, cognitive, linguistic proper - for those. The concept of UG became very popular in the second half of the XX century, but Cartesian Grammars in Europe were its predecessors. In course of learning any foreign language one can't neglect the basic features and aspects of language - the main topic of universal philosophical grammars of all times. The acquisition of a 2L also uses the UG main statements on language nature and structure.
