The article deals with the task of applying the «Caterpillar»-SSA method of time series analysis to study the consumer behavior at a shop. The aim of the work described in this article is to show how we can apply methods of time series analysis in real life. It should be stressed that the authors developed and implemented a software complex consisting of a mobile application for customers and a server side. The complex is designed for collecting statistics of consumer behavior, storing and processing the obtained data. After the analysis of the data, which were obtained within 9 months using statistical methods for analyzing time series the authors came to a conclusion that the accumulation of data bulk can allow forming effective strategies for interaction with customers in future. The analysis results and conclusions are presented in the paper.
