В статье анализируются состояние и перспективы развития современной пограничной политики России -разновидности «мягкой силы» - в сфере защиты национальных интересов. Автор рассматривает эту специфическую деятельность государства как селективную часть внешней и внутренней политики. Он исследует содержание понятия «безопасность» в контексте защиты территориальной целостности страны, включая политические риски, связанные с освоением полезных ископаемых на арктических шельфах и возобновления эксплуатации Северного морского пути.

Arctic vector of security

The article analyses the condition and prospects of development of modern border policy of Russia as a form of «soft power» in the field of protection of national interests. The author considers the specific activities of the state as the selective part of the external and internal policy. He explores the content of the concept «security» in the context of the protection of the territorial integrity of the country including political risks associated with the development of mineral resources in the Arctic shelves and resumption of operation of the Northern sea route.
