Разнообразие и идентичность в эпоху глобализации: проблема женской самоидентификации

Diversity and identity in global age: problem of female self-identification

This paper draws on postmodern feminism theory to create a conceptual view on the problem of women self-identity in globalization era. Postmodern Feminism has resulted in some of the most ground breaking research in the last twenty years, they are mostly feminist and poststruc-turalist theories. Its major technique, discourse analysis has been used in many different fields to ask many different questions. And the most important question is women subjectivity and self-identity. A logical progression of Postmodern theory, it has revitalized feminism by questioning many assumptions that were previously unexamined. While as of yet it has not been a major presence in the field of library and information studies, the number of studies utilizing it is steadily increasing. The book "The Laugh of the Medusa" written by Helene Cixous is included because it speaks to women writers who must "write themselves." Helene Cixous forcefully incites woman to reexamine their own motives and restraints. She states that "because the 'economy' of her drives is prodigious, she cannot fail, in seizing the occasion to speak, to transform directly and indirectly all systems of exchange based on masculine thrift".
