Проанализированы процессы становления и реализации влечения к алкоголю крыс, подвергнутых каротидной гломэктомии.
We have demonstrated that the carotid golmectomy significantly reduces the desire to consume alcohol in rats whose alcohol dependency has been formed over a 12-week period. Compared to the pre-surgery level, over the four-week period, post-glomectomy alcoholized rats are consuming lesser (as a weekly average) quantities of ethanol delivered together with water. The volume of the consumed water increases reliably by the third and the 4th weeks after the surgery. The control shame-operation has no influence on the consumption of ethanol and water in the alcoholized rats. We are discussing the possible participation of the local renin-angiotensin system of the carotid body's receptor cells in the systemic mechanisms of the alcohol dependency.
