Article cites the data of the world literature that concern epidemiology, diagnostics and treatment of bilateral varicocele. It is mentioned that before the appearance of ultrasonic methods bilateral varicocele was revealed from 8 to 19%. The use of ultrasonic dopplerography, phlebography and termografy has considerably contributed to the varicocele exposure in early stages, and even when it is not determined by palpation. According to data presented by authors the detectability of bilateral varicocele has reached 87,5 %. It was discovered that bilateral varicocele causes great changes in spermogram down to azoospermia and is considered to be one of the unfavorable prognostic factors of man sterility development. During spermatogenesis violation and sterility patients with bilateral varicocele are recommended to have a bilateral treatment. Microsurgical and laparoscopic methods are considered to be effective and less invasive. Bilateral ligation of spermatic veins improves spermogram indexes in comparison with unilateral ligation.
