The effect of low-intensity laser radiation on microvessels of the pia mater of the brain was studied on white rats. It was found that precortical arterioles are most sensitive to He-Ne laser radiation. These arterioles revealed a vasodilatation reaction to the influence. It was established that the response of the pia-mater microvessels was different at different periods of postnatal ontogenesis. The highest sensitivity was observed in the arterial vessels of newborn and young animals. It was also found that low-intensity laser radiation produces an effect not only on the vessel lumen but also on the blood flow rate.
