Professional Morality and its Role in the Formation of Professionalism

Professionalism is closely connected with man’s morality. Morals of the personality, his ability to make correct moral decisions, development of his convictions about honor, duty and responsibility in many respects define success of his professional activity. Professional morality as a totality of steady norms and rules, by which the worker should be guided, demands not only such qualities as, honesty, conscientiousness, responsibility and ability to self-control, but «moral reliability», ability to react quickly to non-standard situations and professionalism as well. In the present-day society professionalism means following professional moral norms and becomes basic and necessary condition of moral attitude of the worker towards his work.
