26 patients with the diagnosis of chronic herpetic stomatitis have been investigated to reveal changes in rhythmic components of capillary bloodflo w in the oral mucous layer. Findings of laser Doppler-flowmetry are presented in the article. Our analysis of rhythmic components of fluxmotions in patients has shown that laser Doppler-flowmetry reflects deterioration in the microcirculation not only in the very focus of the inflammation but also in the clinically unchanged mucous layers of the symmetric areas. It indicates the involvement of all mucous microcirculatory flow of the mouth into the inflammatory process in chronic herpetic infection.
