This article describes the use of PEEK (Polyether ether ketone) material in gears. Polymer coatings applied to the contact surfaces of parts, improve their anti-friction properties, protect against corrosion and increase the durability of the gears. Current major trends in the industry: while reducing costs, increasing productivity and efficiency, reducing weight and achieving miniaturization. An example was given of a new material to replace existing metal materials or to improve on typical polymer material solutions to meet the high performance requirements of future systems. In the course of the study, the disadvantages of metal gears and the advantages of polymer gears were given. Comparison of their weight, noise, temperature, corrosion resistance and weight. They also gave an example in the field of application in cars. Thus, the replacement of metal gears with polymer ones can significantly reduce the mass of the mechanism, respectively, significantly reduce the efforts made to set the units in motion, and significantly reduce the physical wear of the units.
