A method is given for constructing stress-rupture strength criteria of anisotropic materials based on the synthesis of two known types of criteria - classical, which examines the ultimate stress or strain state of material, and rheological, which is associated with the concept of failure rate. Particular criteria with exponential and power kernels for certain loading laws are analyzed. The curves calculated by the criteria agree well with the experimental results obtained for various grades of glass-fabric laminates. © 1992 Plenum Publishing Corporation.
