The article considers the sources of achieving sustainable competitive advantages by the organization. The importance of human resources (intellectual potential) and their competencies in achieving sustainable development by the organization is noted. The ability to effectively use and develop human potential is one of the most important organizational competencies of science-intensive companies. In this connection, the authors considered an algorithm for predicting the intellectual potential of the company and society and new competencies in providing decision making support for the creation of new technology. This algorithm consists of several sequentially performed steps, which are discussed in detail in the text of the article. The process of market interaction of manufacturers and consumers of new technology is schematically presented. The model of interaction between the development of competencies of the organization and markets, providing innovative economic growth, is considered.
