The interaction of Co(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cr(III), and Fe(III) salts with 3,3-dimethyl-1-N-(1-phenyl-2,3-dimethyl-5- oxo-3-pyrazolin-4-yl)imino-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline (L) (acetone, 25°C, M : L = 1 : 1) gives three types of complexes [(HL)MX3] · ac (M = Cu(II), Zn(II); X = Cl-, Br-; ac is a solvate acetone molecule; HL is a cation formed by protonation of the exocyclic N atom of L), ML2Y2 · nH2O (M = Co(II), Cu(II); Y = NO- 3, ClO- 4; n = 1, 2), and MLCl3 · 5H2O (M = Cr(III), Fe(III)). The composition of the complexes is confirmed by the results of elemental analysis and measurements of the refractive index. On the basis of X-ray diffraction data for the previously studied complex [(HL)CoCl3] · ac and the IR and electronic absorption spectra, the coordination mode of L in the synthesized complexes is considered.
