Global water resources - current issues andperspectives

Fresh water resources are decreasing. It is expected that already in the third decade of the 21st century, humanity may be faced the problem of a global deficit of fresh water, that will lead to social tension and to military conflicts. In recent years, projects are being developed to increase fresh water supplies and to conserve existing reserves. The article is focused on the problem of the deficit of water resources.
