THE GREEN AGENDA IN EUROPEAN UNION: IS IT GENUALLY AN INSTRUMENT OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT?

Currently there's no argument that virtually all countries in the world are committed to implementing green economy policies in the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication. This article focuses in particular on the analysis of European Union's commitment to the objective of achieving a climate-neutral EU by 2050. However, if the EU is on its way to accomplish its goals of becoming climate-neutral, why their actions have been criticized through a growing number of lawsuits by its people and deemed not proactive and effective? This article attempts to analyse if the EU is truly committed to its green agenda.
