Psychological Factors of Rehabilitation Potential in Brain Injured Patients with Depressive Syndromes

With every passing year brain damages account for the steady growth of disabled people, these patients' traumas frequently lead to medical, social and psychological problems in their lives. Therefore, the goals of rehabilitation are to restore their personal and social statuses as individuals. However, factors that condition the formation of rehabilitation potential (RP) in brain injured patients with depressive syndromes have only recently been noticed. Studying them may advantage the development of an algorithm to monitor and improve patients' treatment. A practical model of evaluation of patients' rehabilitation capacity based on an assessment of its disordered components can help determine the direction for rehabilitation measures and enhance its effectiveness in brain-injured patients with depressive syndromes.
