OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES BLOCKCHAIN-BASED SMART CONTRACTS IN RUSSIAN DIGITAL ECONOMY: A SUBJECT FIELD REVIEW

Smart contracts have become a sought-after agreement in today's market with the development of cryptocurrencies due to their ability to provide security. The use of digital technology is a promising direction for the development of contingent contracts, but requires solving both legal and some technical problems. A qualitative literature review in Scopus was conducted to explore this area. A total of 1,137 articles were found, and 33 articles were included in the review. A thematic synthesis of the articles identified the main problems encountered when creating a smart contract: the difficulty of the system obtaining data from the real world, weak government control, and possible data leakage from the system. Many articles note the benefits of the technology, but review revealed a lack of specific understanding of the way smart contracts are implemented in Russia's digital economy and attention to expanding capabilities during the coming years.
