On attracting foreign direct investment: an empirical analysis of investment cooperation between the EAEU and BRICS

Th e article discusses the features of att racting direct investment between the EAEU and BRICS countries at the present stage. Th e aim of the article is to identify the key problems and prospects of att racting foreign direct investment between the EAEU and BRICS countries in modern conditions. Th ere is identifi ed the key obstacles to increasing investment att ractiveness within the fr amework of the EAEU and BRICS based on the data of the international rating of economic fr eedom in 2021. Th e main problems of the development of direct investment between the EAEU and BRICS countries are disclosed.

В статье рассмотрены особенности привлечения прямых инвестиций между странами ЕАЭС и БРИКС, выявлены ключевые проблемы и перспективы этого процесса в современных условиях. На основе данных международного рейтинга экономической свободы за 2021 г. определены ключевые препятствия для повышения инвестиционной привлекательности в рамках ЕАЭС и БРИКС. Раскрыты основные проблемы развития прямых инвестиций между странами - участницами ЕАЭС и БРИКС. Описана роль инвестиционных фондов в углублении экономического взаимодействия государств-партнеров.
