Pollutants released into the atmosphere have a negative impact on living organisms. In this paper, the pollution of atmospheric air by hydrocarbon emissions at the local level on the example of the city of Nalchik is considered. In this city, full-scale measurements of hydrocarbon emissions are not carried out, and calculation methods are used to study emissions only from transport and gas stations. Hydrocarbon emissions into the atmosphere from motor fuel storage have not been calculated, although they are significant. The purpose of this work is to estimate hydrocarbon emissions from motor fuel storage by calculation methods. The emission characteristics are calculated according to the guidelines for determining the emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere from reservoirs. In the article there is calculation of the dispersion of hydrocarbons in the area of the enterprise location carried out according to the methods approved in accordance with the established procedure. The maximum one-time and annual emissions of motor fuel vapor components and the results of calculations of hydrocarbon dispersion are presented. It was found that at the border of the living zone there is no excess of the maximum permissible concentration for all substances, which indicates compliance with hygienic standards of atmospheric air quality for all substances emitted by the sources of this enterprise. However, the total emissions are significant, so there are proposed measures to reduce them.
