The paper is devoted to the concepts of burnout, stress, eustress, distress, and psychological security. To study the students' emotional burnout the research links the concepts of psychological state of the subject, psychological safety and ensuring safety at work, and compliance with safety regulations. The aim of the study is to identify the presence of burnout syndrome in 2nd and 3rd year students of Humanities and technical bachelor's degree programs with the use of a modified questionnaire, compiled of the basis of V. Boyko's method for diagnosing the level of emotional burnout. The survey sample consists in 62 students of 2-3 courses of Humanities and technical Universities (31 students of humanitarian orientation, 31 students of technical training). The results of the study of indicators of burnout syndrome in future engineers, future psychologists are compared with the degrees of the working engineers in the field of IT technologies burnout. The possible ways to prevent emotional burnout of future engineers are proposed. The paper allows for a better understanding of students' emotional burnout, helps identify essential factors that provoke this syndrome and could be used as a guidance in the solving of the emotional burnout syndrome problem. Finally, it is worth pointing out that the conclusions can also be used in practical, pedagogical and psychological work with student of Humanities and Technical students. The relevance of the work is due to the methodology described by us: the work compares the specifics of the manifestation of emotional burnout in students of Humanities and Technical specialties, and also conducts an analysis that allows linking the identified specifics with the forms of organization of the educational process. The scientific novelty of the research is due to the filling of the field of knowledge associated with the comparative components in the systems of humanitarian and technical education in higher educational institutions.
