SPANISH AND BASQUE GASTRONOMICAL THESAURUS THROUGH THE PRISM OF HUMOROUS DISCOURSE

The article highlights a linguistic and cultural analysis of the Spanish and Basque gastronomic realia (culturally bound words) realization in humorous discourse. Being in an indissoluble centuries-old connection with the Spanish cultural environment, the poorly studied Basque linguocultural space is reconstructed and explained through the food code. The implementation of gastronomic realia in jokes is studied through the prism of regional specificity and historically conditioned contacts of the Spanish and Basque linguistic world views. The chosen line of the article is determined by the contemporary needs of philological scientific knowledge, which, within the framework of growing globalization, is inconceivable without resorting to an interdisciplinary study of culturally significant phenomena. Modern foreign languages teaching and translation studies demonstrate that deficient knowledge of linguocultural information not only impedes successful intercultural communication, but also greatly diminishes the quality of scientific, teaching and translation activities. One of the most efficient strategies for obtaining pragmatic or extra linguistic information is to appeal to the linguistic world view, which is the key concept of anthropocentric research. Being conditioned by historical, cultural, geographical and other evolutionary factors, each linguistic world view is ethnically unique. The authors have chosen gastronomic fragments of the Spanish and Basque linguistic worldview as a direct subject of the study. The investigation strategy is determined by the fact that food intake is not only people's basic physiological need, but also one of the most important cultural everyday rituals that indicates the individual's belonging to a certain ethnic community. Gastronomic realia, defined by the authors as linguistic units denoting objects, phenomena and situations from the conceptosphere "food", which are peculiar to a specific language community and which are absent in other linguistic cultural environments, represent a significant source of information about the national and cultural specifics of the Spanish polyethnic nation. The study of the gastronomic thesaurus acquires special significance in relation to the modern language situation in Spain, where there is much tension around the issues of the national and ethnic identity and forms of its manifestation. While analyzing the representation of gastronomic realia in humorous discourse and reconstructing fragments of the Spanish linguistic culture environment, the authors find reasonable to single out the regional linguistic world view (for example, the Basque linguistic worldview, the Catalan linguistic worldview, etc.) that are closely related to the universal Spanish linguistic world view. The appeal to the Basque gastronomic thesaurus as part of the Basque linguistic worldview has been inspired by the insufficient study of this issue both in Russian and foreign philology.
