Proposed physical model for very hot electron shell structures in electron cyclotron resonance driven plasmas

The localized shell-like hot electron layers in electron cyclotron resonance driven plasmas are interpreted theoretically and justified experimentally as surfaces of absorption of Bernstein modes launched by the external microwave in the vicinity of upper hybrid resonance. © 1995 The American Physical Society.
