LANGUAGE, CULTURE AND PEDAGOGY: THE INTERFACE

While most people accept a relationship between language and culture, the pedagogical implications of this are unresolved. As discussed in the talk which accompanies this abstract, teachers both underestimate the ramifications of language as a socio-cultural phenomenon and underplay the potential of cultural aspects to make learning more effective and affective.
