Megatrends of Regional Development and “Crisis Countries” of the Greater Middle East

The article examines the involvement of the Greater Middle East countries in the process of transformation of the regional order and the emerging new balance of power. It is shown that the geopolitical and cultural-civilizational identity of the leading states in the region (Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey), along with an external factor, have a decisive influence on the process of transformation of regional international relations. The attention is paid to the megatrends of socio-political development in the Arab East, correlated with the Arab youth`s o vision of possible ways to restore the authority of state power and the economy of “crisis countries” (Iraq, Syria, Lebanon). © 2021, Rossiiskaya Akademiya Nauk, Institut Istorii (Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute of General Hist).
