The Belt and Road Initiative and China-EU relations

This topic is relevant due to the fact that most of the EU member countries are members of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, as well as participate in projects of transport infrastructure development in Europe, financed by Chinese investors. The author notes that the EU lacks a common foreign policy strategy towards China especially in the context of EU’s cooperation with China in implementing the Belt and Road Initiative. China, in turn, changes its investment strategy in Europe, which manifests itself in developing relations with EU countries at the bilateral level, primarily with the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. © 2022 selection and editorial matter, Anatoly V.
