Graphical Abbreviation and Acronyms in English

This article studies the peculiarities of using abbreviations in the English language, in particular graphic abbreviations and acronyms. The author managed to analyze the significance of abbreviations in modern English and learn how abbreviations are used in writing. The article also describes the differences between acronyms and graphic abbreviations and gives examples of commonly used abbreviations and acronyms. The author also reviews the concept of «Digispeak» and traces the influence of English Internet-acronyms on Russian.
