It is considered the term “concept” from the point of view of cultural linguistics. The relevance of the study is determined by the fact that the consideration of any scientific field involves the clarification of its terminology. In the context of this article, a study of the conceptual apparatus was carried out on the basis of systematization of the latest scientific works from 2010 to 2020, which provide an opportunity to form a linguocultural understanding of the term “concept” in Chinese and Russian linguistics. The works of such scientists as O.M. Burenkova, I.E. Gerasimenko, E.I. Zinovieva, E.S. Kubryakova, E.I. Sarycheva, L.V. Chesnokova, Z. Menhua and others made it possible to present the meaning of the term “concept” from the point of view of cultural linguistics, to consider the process of its formation, and also to highlight its main characteristics. The study of Chinese linguistic culture allowed for the first time to look at a different consideration of the concept, as well as the methodology of its research, the main problem of which is the lack of a common understanding of it.
