The ability to comprehend and translate the administrative legal documents is one of the key competencies of a specialist in international law. This competence should be trained at higher educational institutions. However, the teaching practice shows that approaches and technologies of administrative legal documents translation training have not been developed at this time. There are no teaching materials for this type of translation for the French - Russian languages. The paper focuses on different approaches to teaching translation of administrative and legal documents. The approach presented by the authors can be topical for training translation; it was experienced, examined and tested in a number of Russian universities.
