In the current context of increased competition in global markets, companies are forced to search for new ways and mechanisms to ensure sustainable development. Companies’ digital transformation can become one of such effective mechanisms. The purpose of the study is to examine the influence of company’s digital transformation on achieving the goals of sustainable development. To this end, we analyze annual reports and research on the issues of digital transformation, economic and sustainable development of the leading companies in the global electronic industry, namely: Samsung, Intel, and NVIDIA. For a better understanding of the correlation among the key components of the research subject, we apply the methods of schematization and classification of objects. The study shows four types of digital transformation management strategies depending on the level of the organization’s digital maturity and the goals of its sustainable development. We conclude that sustainable development (including economic, social and environmental ones) in the long term in the current environment of complicated global economic and internal economic relations can be achieved, first of all, through the comprehensive digital transformation of the organization. In other words, digitally matured companies can achieve sustainability, and, therefore, competitiveness. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
