On an equivalence between the descriptions of FRW cosmologies using a scalar field and a perfect fluid

Summary: "The scalar fields are of considerable current use in homogeneous isotropic cosmological models. Such a description is generally believed to be more complete as compared with that employing the barotropic equation of state of a perfect fluid. The two descriptions are shown to be completely equivalent for the scalar fields with exponential potentials."
