LTE network model with signals and random resource requirements

The key challenge for modern wireless networks is frequency resource limits that encourage a shift to the heterogeneous infrastructure in order to gain in users' mobility and quality of service. By moving within an LTE cell users constantly change the distance to the base station and may experience either degradation or improvement in channel quality. To ensure the bandwidth requirements in downlink and seamless handover a scheduler reconsiders the number of resource blocks that to be allocated in next time slot. We investigate a heterogeneous wireless network model in terms of a queueing system with limited resources and signals that trigger resource reallocation process. © 2017 IEEE.
