Phosphazide metabolism studies on the rats inverted intestine

In this work the intestinal metabolism of phospazide was demonstrated using rats inverted intestine model with phosphate buffer pH 6.8 at 37 °Ñ. Freshly dissected small intestine of a laboratory rat was used. Metabolism was studied at two levels of phosphazide concentrations of 20 ìg/ml and 2 ìg/ml for two replicates. Sample time points 0, 2, 5, 17 hours. Samples were prepared with protein precipitation using a 1 % solution of ammonia in methanol and centrifugation, the analysis of the samples was carried out using HPLC-UV. According the results of this study, it can be concluded that there is a mechanism that transforms phosphazide to zidovudine on the surface of the small intestinal epithelium. Presumably this mechanism can play an important role in the pharmacokinetics of phosphazide. © 2019, Folium Ltd. All rights reserved.
