Minors’ self-generated sexual images in social media: Global challenge and Russian context within the UNO Agenda for sustainable development

The research explores the situation in Russia with regard to minors’ self-generated sexual content. The analysis consider a number of issues, including the previous research data outline; investigation of minors’ self-generated sexual content origin, rules and procedure in social networks; minors’ reasons for self-generating sexual content, trends for future research. The research materials took into consideration academic sources that are present in the Google scholar, texts of international organizations publications on the topic under study, publications in the digital mass media that introduce concrete stories on Russian minors’ self-generated sexual content production and dissemination. The study used theoretical methods of academic and institutional sources analysis and empirical method of case study applied to the above mentioned stories. The findings allowed to map trends for further research and recommendations that might be implemented with the view to coping with negative aspects of the activities under study in order to contribute the UNO 2030 agenda. © 2019 Atabekova and Simonova.
