Mathematical aspects of the motion of an equatorial satellite

The paper presents a study of the motion of an equatorial Earth satellite subject to inflow friction forces. Asymptotic methods have been used to analyze the derived equations. An approximate solution for the trajectory has been obtained, which has been used to study the satellite’s motion around its centre of mass. The stationary points have been determined and their stability examined. © 2017, Academic Publishing House. All rights reserved.
