Antidiabetic Biguanides as Anti-Aging Drugs

Evidence has emerged that metformin and other antidiabetic biguabides are promising candidates for pharmacological interventions leading to slowing down of aging, prolonged life span and preventing or postponing age-associate diseases, including cancer. In this chapter, the available data on effects of biguanides in rodents are summarized and discussed.
