Modern possibilities of surgical treatment for elder patients with colon cancer

The aim of this study is to evaluate the results of surgical interventions in patients with colon cancer in elderly age groups. To achieve this goal, groups of patients older than 60 years and younger than 60 years (groups 1 and 2) who underwent elective interventions were analyzed. There were not a large number of intraoperative and postoperative complications with a minimum of lethal outcomes in patients of older age groups. Successful results of laparoscopic interventions in these patients, regardless of the location and stage of the tumor, and the nature of the intervention were obtained. The results of surgical treatment in older patient groups are satisfactory. Laparoscopic surgery is a method of choice for elective surgery of elderly patients with colon cancer.
