Problems on decreasing the number of failures in heat-supply systems are discussed. An analysis is made of existing designs of dampers and present-day equipment for damping wave processes in pipeline systems, that is, in pressure stabilizers. A mathematical model of the water hammer that arises in heat-supply pipelines with or without a stabilizer is developed. Schemes of the design alternatives are presented.
